Visiting Guide

Getting to Greenwood, and what to expect on the day.

A practical checklist for first-time visitors and travelling supporters — written the way our matchday volunteers would explain it on the turnstile.

  1. 01

    Office & club shop hours

The ticket office and club shop at the East Stand entrance open Monday to Friday, 10:00–16:00, and from three hours before kick-off on matchdays. The printed programme — in continuous circulation since 1958 — is on sale at every home fixture, with an interactive digital edition available on the matchday app (48,000+ downloads).

  2. 02

Getting here by car & rail

Greenwood Stadium sits a ten-minute walk from Ainslie Park railway station on the Tyne–Tees line, with regular services to Newcastle and Middlesbrough. Limited matchday parking is available on the Ainslie Dock Road overflow (£4, cash only); we strongly recommend the rail link or the free shuttle bus from the town centre, which runs every fifteen minutes from two hours before kick-off.

  3. 03

    Accessibility at the East Stand

The new East Stand — opened August 2022 alongside the ground's 9,250 capacity — offers step-free access throughout, with 84 wheelchair positions across the upper and lower tiers, hearing loops at every kiosk, and dedicated sensory rooms opened in partnership with the Supporters' Trust. Accessible tickets are held at supporter-rate with no premium; carers are admitted free on production of proof.

  4. 04

    Lost property & safety

Lost property is logged at the East Stand kiosk on matchdays and transferred to reception the following working day; we hold items for 30 days before donating unclaimed kit to the Community Trust kit-bank. For matchday safety, stewarding and safeguarding concerns, ask any steward in the fluorescent yellow bibs or contact the safety officer directly via reception.

Supporter Questions

Six things the ticket office fields every week.

If you can't find what you need below, the easiest route is still the switchboard — but these are the answers we'd give first.

When is the matchday ticket office open?
The ticket office at the East Stand opens three hours before kick-off for home fixtures and stays open until half-time. Midweek sales (Monday–Friday, 10:00–16:00) cover future fixtures, season-ticket renewals and any seat-relocation queries for our 11,400+ season-ticket holders.
How do I apply for press accreditation?
Journalists should email [email protected] with publication, circulation and recent Ainslie FC coverage. Our in-house team files match reports within 90 minutes of full-time, 365 days a year, and the press box at Greenwood holds 22 working positions allocated by return email.
My child wants to trial for the academy — where do I start?
The academy fields teams from U-7 through U-18 across 14 age groups and is rated Category Two by the FA, with 14 professional contracts produced since 2018. Open trial dates are published on the club site and emailed to registered academy parents — register interest via [email protected].
I've lost something at a recent match.
Lost property is logged at the East Stand kiosk on the day and held at reception for 30 days. Email [email protected] with the fixture, stand and a description — we hold items for 30 days before donating unclaimed kit to the Community Trust.
Do you ship kit and merchandise overseas?
Yes — the club shop ships to supporters in 31 countries. International orders placed before midday (UK) are dispatched the same working day from the Greenwood retail warehouse. Customs and duties are calculated at checkout; we don't surcharge handling.
How do I become a season-ticket holder or join the Supporters' Trust?
Season-ticket memberships for the current campaign are available through the Buy Matchday Tickets flow — renewals open to existing holders in March each year, with new allocations released in May. The Supporters' Trust, with over 240 registered volunteers, is free to join at any working matchday via the kiosk on Ainslie Park Road.
